The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to invite the plant health community to the 20th Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM-20), which will take place from 9-13 March 2026 at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy.
FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu will officially open the plenary session while Susan Hayman, Baroness Hayman of Ullock and Minister for Biosecurity, Borders and Animals from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Sahat Manaor Panggabean, Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Authority, will deliver keynote addresses.
During the plenary, there will also be a Science session on Fostering plant health for safe provision of food and humanitarian aid in addition to the following side sessions, all of which can be streamed live via the FAO webcast.
For the first time, CPM will include three poster sessions on innovative phytosanitary work: 1) Stories of successes and challenges: Innovation in implementing the IPPC instruments and tools; 2) International cooperation and 3) Innovation in plant health.
CPM-20 will also feature an Innovation Fair, during which members of the plant health community will display Artificial Intelligence (AI) in plant health, digital solutions and smart plant health applications, modelling tools, immersive technologies and on-the-ground innovations for pest surveillance and early detection.
