Résumé

We are notifying the first outbreak of Rhagoletis cingulata (Loew) (Tephritidae) in the territory of Slovenia. During the monitoring in Republic of Slovenia, 276 specimens were caught on yellow sticky traps in sour cherry tree orchards (Prunus cerasus L.) in a rather restricted production area near to the villages Lahonci, Desnjak and Savci (eastern part of Slovenia) in June 2007. A single specimen was also caught near the village Radmozanci, close to the Slovene-Hungarian border (Y, X Bessel: 588375/5150248; 588199/5150388). Identification was done in officially approved laboratory of Regional Agricultural Institute in Nova Gorica. The origin of the introduction of R. cingulata into Slovenia is currently unknown. Infested fruits and its gradual natural spread by flying, seems to be the most plausible spreading pathways throughout Europe. After these first positive results, the monitoring will be intensified in 2008 with intention to determine the extent of infestation in Slovenia. The current status of Rhagoletis cingulata (Loew) can be described as: present, at low prevalence in eastern part of Slovenia.
