Description

Presentation on the SPS Agreement and how it is related to the IPPC. This is the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures The WTO was established on 1 January 1995. At that time the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) came into force. The WTO-SPS Agreement recognizes the IPPC as the relevant international standard setting organisation for the elaboration of international standards to help ensure that phytosanitary measures are not used as unjustified barriers to trade.
