Save the date: Strategic Partnership Forum for the Africa Phytosanitary Programme (APP)

The IPPC Secretariat is organising a Strategic Partnership Forum for the Africa Phytosanitary Programme (APP), bringing together development partners, donors, regional institutions and national authorities to strengthen international cooperation, coordinate strategic investments and sustain APP's growing momentum across the continent.

Scheduled for Monday, 6 July 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Forum will review key achievements and lessons learned from APP implementation since its launch in September 2023, explore the programme’s digital and training innovations and discuss priority investment needs to support its expansion. It will also serve as a platform to enhance strengthen regional ownership and promote coordinated phytosanitary action for sustainable plant protection and safe trade.

The Forum is organised in collaboration with the African Union Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Development, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ethiopian Agricultural Authority (EAA).
